The workshop fits
in a pocket
Whoever is at the machine doesn't have a PC next to them. They have a phone. That's where their day is, the clock they start with a thumb and the points they're earning — and nothing else, because they need nothing else.
- Your day and your clock
- Your points and the prizes
- The team board, if you're in charge
- Installs from the browser
- No orders, no prices, no customers. That's not the cutter's business.
One thumb to start
The screen is used standing up, with gloves on, phone in one hand. That's why buttons are 56 px and the text is big: it isn't a small version of the dashboard, it's something else.
Points come from the clock
Every task has a time target. Finishing under it pays more, going over pays less, and the server does the math with the recorded time segments — not with whatever the phone says.
The phone shows a projection; the points that get recorded are calculated by the server from the real time segments. If someone changes the phone's clock, they gain nothing.
Every point has its task, its minutes and its date behind it. When someone says they're missing points, there's something to answer with — which is what keeps this from ending in a fight.
If someone helps you, your clock is still yours, but the bar runs against the team's time: it's 110 minutes no matter who does them.
And points buy something
A points system you can't redeem for anything is a spreadsheet with lights. The owner sets the prizes and how many points they cost; whoever requests one waits for approval, and the balance only goes down when it's handed over.
One phone, several people
There's usually one workshop phone, not one per person. Everyone signs in with their own account and, on sign-out, the app reloads completely: nothing from the previous person stays on screen.
The board, only if you're in charge
The «Team» tab —handing out tasks, seeing who's on what— only shows up if you have that permission. Whoever cuts sees their day, and that's it.
There's nothing to download
It installs from the browser in one tap and gets its own icon like any other app. Comes with Ultra, in beta.
Not from any app store. It installs from nofacto.com/puntos.
It gets its icon on the home screen, opens full screen and keeps working even if the workshop wifi drops for a while. No Play Store, no App Store, no one needs to know anything.
One button. It's installed.
Open nofacto.com/puntos on the workshop phone and the browser offers to install it: tap «Install» and you're done. It's the same mechanism any modern web app uses to install.
If the browser doesn't offer to install it, open Chrome's ⋮ menu and choose «Install app». You'll never be left with a button that does nothing.
On iPhone, Apple does it its own way
Safari doesn't let a page install itself, so there's no button there: open nofacto.com/puntos in Safari and it's three taps. We show them with drawings, because «share menu» means nothing to anyone.
- 1
Tap Share
The little square with the arrow pointing up, in Safari's bottom bar.
- 2
Add to Home Screen
Scroll down the list a bit: it says «Add to Home Screen».
- 3
Done
It gets its own icon, like any other app on the phone.
So how does the phone get there?
Point the phone's camera at this code and it opens nofacto.com/puntos, which is where it installs. Nobody has to type an address, which is where workshop folks always get lost.
